Securing Important Cargoes

Cargos that need to be transported always face the risk of getting stolen or opened by unscrupulous individuals. Fortunately, with the passing of time, more and more cargo forwarders are learning to appreciate the value of container bolt seals. However, you need to have more than that if you want to properly secure your cargo.

Although, generally, all cargoes can be secured using security bolts, there are actually a number of things one has to keep in mind before putting on a specific seal on the container. For one, the kind of items that you have on your container would determine not only the level of security there should be but the type of bolt that you would need to have in place. If it is something that poses a high risk for contamination or such, you might need to put on a seal that features codes that would alert you easily if someone tampered with it.

You would also need to make sure that the security seals you are planning have is really what’s needed for the type of materials that you are carrying in your containers. For example, heavier materials might need metal security seals instead of plastic one.

Of course, you should also take into consideration the length of time the transport would take as well as the kind of transportation that would be used. After all, if the container would be moved using a ship, the water might have an undue effect on the seal that would be used. While plastic seals might hold, the same might not be true for metal seals.
